Joanne has worked in the field of medical social work for 20 years, at both Massachusetts General Hospital and the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston, and comes to Your Elder Experts after working as a case manager for the ALS Association MA Chapter.

Everywhere she has worked, Joanne has advocated for her clients and their families in navigating the healthcare system. Joanne has led expert trainings on both Alzheimer’s Disease and domestic abuse in the elderly.

She was a founding member of the LGBT Aging Project in Boston and has led caregiver support and bereavement groups for the Project for the past four years. Joanne brings the compassion of a family caregiver and the experience of a seasoned medical social worker to the geriatric care management program. She is a nationally Certified Care Manager (C-ASWCM) and is a member of NASW and both the national and New England chapters of NAPGCM.
